The Rotaract Club of Langley and Iver was formed in 1975 by our sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Langley and Iver.
It is estimated that during our history Langley and Iver Rotaract has had
over 500 members, raised over £50,000 for good causes and done thousands of man-hours of voluntary work.
With a current membership of around 15, we are one of the larger Rotaract clubs in our area and are always ready to welcome new people!
Our annual calendar of events usually includes two major fundraising events, one of which is usually a themed party, as well
as regular trips to the theatre, bowling alley, cinema and restaurants of all kinds.
As a club we have recently visited Russia and regularly attend other events hosted by surrounding clubs.
Langley and Iver Rotaract has close links with our neighbouring Rotary Clubs and assist with events such as the Uxbridge Auto Show, Heathrow Family Day, Windsor St George’s Operatic Gala and our sponsoring club’s night hike, Moonraker.
The 2006/07 Rotaract year was particularly successful. Through our efforts, including the 80s Party which took £750, we were able to raise an amazing £3000. We donated this to our nominated charity, Daisy’s Dream, which supports bereaved children and their families.
In past years we have also raised money for charities including; Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC), Helen House & Douglas House, Thames Valley and Chilterns Air Ambulance, The Kamran Jabble Leukaemia Fund and Mencap.
